This page documents every way a person consents to receive text messages from Willow, the exact wording shown when they do, and how to stop messages on each platform. It is published without a login so that anyone — including our messaging providers and mobile carriers — can verify how consent is collected.

1Who Sends These Messages

Messages are sent by Willow AI LLC, 3368 SE Brookwood Ave, Hillsboro, OR 97123, US. Willow is a household assistant people use by text message: it captures and organizes a household’s tasks, lists, and reminders, and replies in the messaging app the person already uses. Support is available at friend@hellowillow.co.

Willow operates on SMS, WhatsApp, and Telegram. Consent is collected separately for each platform and separately for each type of message; agreeing to one never enrolls a person in another.

2What Willow Sends

Service messages are the product itself: replies to what a person sends Willow, confirmations of tasks and list items, and the reminders they asked for. Examples:

  • “Added ‘buy milk’ to your Grocery List. That’s 6 items.”
  • “Reminder: trash goes out tonight.”
  • “Got it — marked ‘book flights’ as done.”

Promotional messages are occasional product news and tips. They require their own separate opt-in and are never sent to someone who agreed only to service messages.

Message frequency varies with use. Message and data rates may apply. Willow does not charge for messages.

3Every Way a Person Opts In

There are four, and every one requires an affirmative action. No consent box is ever checked or enabled by default, and none is bundled with acceptance of our Terms or Privacy Policy.

  1. The public sign-up page. At hellowillow.co/messaging-opt-in a person enters their mobile number, under a label stating that we will text that number, and ticks an unchecked box. No account is required, and the page is reachable without logging in.
  2. During account signup. At hellowillow.co/signup, the “connect your phone” step shows the same unchecked box and the same wording beside the phone field. The step can be skipped entirely; skipping it still completes the account. Willow then texts a 6-digit code that the person enters, so we only ever message a number whose holder confirmed it.
  3. In account settings. A signed-in person can turn messages on for any platform at hellowillow.co/portal/profile, using an off-by-default toggle carrying the same wording.
  4. By messaging Willow first. When someone sends the first message to Willow, that message is their consent to a conversational reply. Our first reply identifies Willow and carries the opt-out instructions quoted below.

4The Exact Wording People See

These are the strings rendered beside the consent control, quoted verbatim from the running application. Links labelled “Terms of Use” and “Privacy Policy” appear directly beside them.

Service messages, SMS:

Yes, text me Willow household reminders and replies at this number. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.

Promotional messages, SMS:

Yes, text me occasional Willow product news and tips at this number. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.

Telegram has no opt-out keyword, so its wording names what actually works instead:

Yes, message me Willow household reminders and replies on Telegram. Message frequency varies. Turn messages off anytime in your Willow account settings, or block the bot.

First reply to someone who messaged Willow first:

Willow here 🌿 You'll get household reminders and replies at this number. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Manage anytime: hellowillow.co/portal/profile

Confirmation sent once a person opts in:

Willow: You're subscribed to household reminders and replies. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel. friend@hellowillow.co

5Consent Is Never Required

Consent to receive messages is not a condition of any purchase, of creating a Willow account, or of using Willow. A person who declines can still create an account, create or join a household, invite members, manage billing, and use every part of Willow on the web — tasks, lists, reminders, and calendar integration included. The only thing they do not get is messages.

The signup flow makes this real rather than merely stated: the messaging step offers an equally prominent way to skip it, and no phone number is collected from someone who has not ticked the box.

6How to Stop Messages

On SMS and WhatsApp: reply STOP to any message. Standard opt-out keywords including STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, and QUIT are honored, and no further messages are sent. Reply HELP for help.

On Telegram: Telegram has no opt-out keyword. Turn messages off in Willow account settings, or block the bot in Telegram. We do not claim STOP works there, because it does not.

On any platform: turn messages off at hellowillow.co/portal/profile, or email friend@hellowillow.co and we will do it. Service and promotional messages can be stopped independently.

7What We Record, and What We Never Share

For every opt-in and every withdrawal we record the identifier, the platform, whether it covered service or promotional messages, the date and time, the page or message it happened on, and the exact wording shown at that moment. Records are kept as evidence of consent for as long as telecommunications rules require.

Mobile numbers and messaging opt-in consent are never shared with, sold to, or rented to third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. They are disclosed only to the messaging providers that deliver our messages, and only so they can deliver them. See the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
